GEORGETOWN — Sussex Tech High used a four-run fifth inning to break open a scoreless game before downing Sussex Central, 7-0, in Henlopen North baseball on Thursday evening.

The victory gives the Ravens (7-0 North, 13-1 overall) the North title and puts them in the Henlopen Conference championship game, which is scheduled for May 17 at South champion Delmar.

Jeremy Vest pitched a complete-game five-hitter with eight strikeouts to earn the shutout for Sussex Tech. He threw 99 pitches in the contest, which was played at Sports at the Beach.

Kobe Tindley and Braydon Hazzard had two RBI each for Sussex Tech, which added three more runs in the sixth.

Peter Onuschak went 2-for-2 for the Golden Knights (6-1 North, 13-1 overall), who suffered their first loss of the season. It was the first time Sussex Central had been shutout in a span of 36 games dating back to 2022.

Osiah Kelley and Noah Burroughs combined to throw a six-hitter for Sussex Central.

The Golden Knights are ranked No. 1 while Sussex Tech is ranked No. 2 by the Delaware Interscholastic Coaches Association.
