QOTW: Should voters consider teacher pay at the referendum ballot box?

The National Education Association recently reported that Delaware is 16th in the nation for teacher salaries and first for compensation for educational support personnel. Meanwhile, several school districts have presented referendums to hike pay via tax increases. Should voters keep teachers’ compensation in mind when casting their ballots? Are there other expenses that are more significant? What do you think of Delaware’s referendum process?
